TECHNICAL OPTIONS
BACKUP AND RESTORE
Backup and Restore are two important technical features of the tally, that is used to prevent data from accidentally lost and corrupt.TALLY BACKUP
Backup tool is used to create a backup file for the selected number of companies.
To create a backup file, we have to follow the below steps.
1. Open the Tally ERP-9
2. Click on "Company Info." or press "Alt + F3"
3. Now click on "Backup" option.
4. Enter the destination path and select the companies.
5. Now press "Y" to accept and create the backup file.
RESTORE IN TALLY ERP 9
Restore tool is used to regain data from an already existing backup file.
To restore, follow the below steps.
2. Click on "Company Info." or press "Alt + F3"
3. Now click on "Restore" option.
4. It will automatically access the last backup path.
5. Select the company from the backup file.
6. Press "Y" to accept the process.
EXPORT OPTION
Export (Alt + E): This option is used to create an export file with selected items such (Ledgers, Stock details, Voucher, Etc.) in different types of file's format.
STEPS FOR EXPORT
1. Open an already existing company.
2. Click on “Display”
3. Click on “List of accounts”
4. Now click on “Export” or press “Alt + E”
5. Now enter the following details and save the file.
Format: Should be "XML for (Data Interchange"
Export Location: Any drive with or without folder name
Output File Name: Give any relevant name.

IMPORT OPTION
Import option is used to insert data from an already existing export file.
Steps To Perform The Import Task
1. Open an already existing company
2. Click on “Import of data” from “Gateway of tally”
3. Click on “Master” option
MULTIPLE USERS IN TALLY
Tally ERP-9 support to multiple users and we can create different types of users with different privileges.
TYPES OF USERS
1. Data Entry: This type users are only allowed to access basic functions, like (Accounting voucher entries)
2. Owner: This is an admin level user and can access all the features.
3. Tally.NET Auditor: This user also like an admin type user but use only for remote accessing.
4. Tally.NET User: This user like 'Data Entry' user and used for remote accessing.
STEPS TO CREATE USER
1. Open your company in alter mode.
2. Set "Use security control" to "Yes"
3. Enter of "Name of administrator"
4. Enter the password and confirm it by repeat password feature.
5. Save the settings.
6. Now open "Comp Info." (Alt + F3) features.
7. Click on "Security Control" feature.
8. Select "Security Level"
9. Enter Username and Password.
10. Save the settings.
11. Now login with your new user (ABC user ) and password.
12. You can see in below image, there is no ledger and inventory creation. Its just showing Accounting voucher, Inventory Voucher, and other features.
